Active member of ASTM Committee C-12 on Masonry Mortar, C-15 on Manufactured Masonry Units, E-6 on Building Performance, and C-11 on Gypsum and Gypsum Related Products. Member of the National Institute of Building Sciences.

Currently serving on The Masonry Society's Architectural Practices, Construction Practices, and Technical Activities Committees, Board of Directors, and Masonry Standards Joint Committee (MSJC) on building codes.

Six years as chair of TMS Architectural Practices Committee, two years as chair of TMS Codes and Standards Subcommittee on masonry terminology, and two years on the Construction Specifications Institute's Practice Subcommittee assisting in the complete revision and reorganization of the CSI Manual of Practice.
